Laurens County Chamber of Commerce Announces New President & CEO

Laurens County, SC – February 14, 2025 – The Laurens County Chamber of Commerce is proud to announce the appointment of Dabs Maness Davis as its new President and Chief Executive Officer. Davis will succeed Amanda Benfield in leading the Chamber’s efforts to enhance the business environment and community development in Laurens County.

Following an extensive search that attracted 43 applicants, Davis was selected for her impressive leadership experience, deep connections within the community, and a strong vision for the Chamber’s future.

Davis brings a wealth of experience in workforce development, education, community engagement, and business advocacy. Most recently, she served as the Upper Savannah Regional Career Specialist for the South Carolina Department of Education, where she was instrumental in fostering relationships between businesses, schools, and students to promote career readiness and workforce development. Prior to that, Davis worked as a Career Development Facilitator and Work-Based Learning Coordinator at Laurens District 55 High School, where she was deeply involved in student career exploration and business partnerships.

Her extensive background also includes leadership roles in healthcare business development, event planning, and marketing, making her uniquely qualified to lead the Chamber’s strategic initiatives. A graduate of Clemson University with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications Studies and a Master of Health Administration from the University of Phoenix, Davis is passionate about creating opportunities for economic growth and community enrichment in Laurens County.

“I am honored to take on this role and continue the great work of the Laurens County Chamber of Commerce,” said Davis. “My goal is to build on the Chamber’s strong foundation, strengthen relationships with local businesses, and create new opportunities for economic and community development. I look forward to working alongside our members, partners, and community leaders to make Laurens County an even better place to live, work, and do business.”

As President & CEO, Davis will be responsible for executing the Chamber’s mission and strategic vision, overseeing programs and events, managing advocacy efforts, and fostering economic growth. She will work closely with the Board of Directors, business community, and local government to ensure continued progress for Laurens County.

Davis will officially step into the role on March 3, 2025.
