Team Ecology is the education arm of our Keep Laurens County Beautiful Initiative and Committee. This initiative was named Outstanding Organization of the Year (2011) for the State of South Carolina by The South Carolina Department of Transportation. Team Ecology spearheads the effort to educate children through an annual event which brings all Laurens County 3rd graders, approximately 700 per year, to the Joe Adair Outdoor Learning Center for hands on education. There are curriculum based stations which include landfill usage, recycling, and more. Each student is evaluated on the information learned as we aim to teach them the importance of reducing, reusing, recycling, and not littering.

Held quarterly, Chamber 101 is designed for new members and new employees of existing members. Attendees will obtain a better understanding of the Laurens County Chamber and the many benefits associated with membership. The goal is to encourage new and existing members to become actively involved to maximize their chamber membership, while supporting the success of the Chamber.

The Small Business Empowerment Series is a Quarterly gathering of small business leaders to discuss and learn about best practices, common issues and proposed solutions for small businesses in Laurens County. The workshop format will focus on educational presentation to help local small businesses be more successful and thrive in Laurens County.

The Laurens County Touchdown Club was organized to promote a spirit of cooperation and association among citizens of Laurens County through a common interest, “football”. The seven bi-weekly meetings include lunch, door prizes, local football updates, and a speaker. The events end with an annual evening Banquet honoring the All County Football Team of the year.

This bi-annual event was created in 2011 with a goal to host a series of State and National leaders to our community allowing our membership to learn firsthand what the current issues are affecting us locally, regionally and statewide.

The Annual Golf Challenge is one of the County’s most anticipated Tournaments. This is a top level networking event and opportunity to interact directly with business and industry representatives. Players participate in a captain’s Choice Tournament, including custom gifts, raffles, breakfast, lunch, and prizes for tournament winners. All income raised from this great event goes to ensure the success of the Chamber’s many community support projects.

The Industry & Agriculture Tour is hosted by the Laurens County Chamber, AgSouth, Clemson Extension and the Laurens County Farm Bureau, to offer tours of select industries and agricultural businesses throughout Laurens County. This well received and attended event helps promote and educate community leaders of the important role Agriculture and Industry both play in the overall economy of Laurens County.

This Chamber signature event is the largest networking event of the year. Over 600 people from the community and local businesses gather for an evening of fun, football, steamed oysters +, and networking.
