I am happily married to my lovely wife, Lora Callahan, for 10 incredible years. We share three amazing children, Mathew, Sunday, and Eli, who bring so much joy and love into our lives. As a family, we enjoy exploring new adventures, meeting new people, serving at our local church, and spending quality time together, making lasting memories.

Where do you work and what is your title?

What do you like about your job? As the owner of Chris Callahan State Farm, I take great pride in providing top-notch service and protection to my customers across the state. In addition to offering exceptional insurance policies, I also derive joy from mentoring, coaching, and leading a highly skilled team that consistently ranks among the best nationwide.

What motivated you to become an ambassador for our organization?

The ambassador program can indeed be a valuable opportunity to connect with the local community and business owners in Laurens. As an ambassador, I will have the chance to promote my business, build relationships, and contribute to the growth and success of the community. It's important to engage with local organizations, attend community events, and actively participate in networking opportunities to maximize my impact as an ambassador. By serving and earning relationships, I can establish myself as a trusted resource and demonstrate my commitment to the local community.

What makes Laurens County special to you?

Growing up, I lived in a small town where everyone knew each other. It was a close-knit community where we all looked out for one another. One of the hardest decisions I have ever made was leaving my hometown to start a new business. It was a scary and uncertain time, but ultimately, it led me to this wonderful place called Laurens County. When we first arrived here in July 2019, we didn’t know many people and had few friends locally. But God had a plan that has unfolded beyond our wildest dreams. We have been welcomed with open arms by so many amazing people who have become like family to us.

Fast forward five years later, we are still in awe at how much love and support we receive from the good people of Laurens County every single day! Our decision to leave home brought some painful sacrifices initially because change is never easy without growing pains, however my family’s faith and resilience got us through those tough times! The blessings since moving far exceed anything we could have imagined; not only did an incredible entrepreneurial journey begin blossoming right before our eyes- but also lifelong friendships were formed too within mere months after settling down.

It brings tears of joy just thinking about what would have happened if fear held sway over taking risks and listening to what God was telling us back then when faced with uncertainty during such pivotal moments- there can be no price tag attached or put on experiencing peace resulting solely due to trusting fully in His will, He will work everything out.
