Spotlight on the Ambassador - Jammie King
Tell us about yourself.
I am a proud wife of 22 years to my husband, Ashley King, and mother to an amazing 16-year-old, Aidan King. I enjoy spending time with family and reading in my spare time. I was born and raised in Laurens County and graduated from Laurens District 55 High School in 1993. I am also a graduate of Piedmont Technical College with an Associates in Arts degree.
What do you like about your job?
I am the Store Manager at the TD Bank in Clinton. I have the privilege of helping the people of Laurens County with their financial needs, through all stages of their lives. Whether it is opening a new account for a recently married couple, first savings for a child, or helping someone with their dream of purchasing a home, I get to be a part of many special times in the lives of my customers. I also love being able to help businesses in Laurens County grow. As an SBA lender, TD Bank helps businesses get their start and grow. That is a great feeling.
Tell us about your roles with the Chamber.
This is my 3rd year with the Ambassador program. I am also a 2020 graduate of the Leadership Laurens County program that is offered by the Chamber of Commerce.
Why do you love Laurens County?
I love Laurens County because it holds my roots. My family and friends and memories are here. Growing up, I remember The Oaks movie theater, Pop Jubilee, cruising the Square, and hanging out at McDonald's after football games. While things have changed, many things remain the same. The Square is still the place to be and we have so many more businesses so that we can shop local! I love that while we are a growing County, we are managing to hold onto the small-town charm.
